Library

The Library of the Hellenic Mediterranean University (HMU) operates as a center for the collection and dissemination of information, with the aim of supporting the educational process and research through organized collections of printed and electronic material. The library covers the information needs of members of the Academic community and the wider society. The Academic ID is required to borrow, renew or reserve material. In case of loss, identification can be done by showing another public document. More information is available on the library website.

Infrastructure

The Postgraduate Program is housed in the HMU building in Heraklion, with modern educational and laboratory infrastructure. The exclusive 60-seat classroom is equipped with distance learning technology and there are also training rooms, in shared use with the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of HMU, with which the department’s laboratory spaces are jointly utilized. These spaces are equipped with general-purpose computers and specialized equipment, for the education and practice of students in relevant courses.

Students have access to specialized laboratory equipment and computers for their education and internship. The Program is constantly upgrading its infrastructure through available financial resources for the continuous development of the educational process.

Students of the HMU “Information Technology Engineering” Postgraduate Program have access to a multitude of support services offered at the Institution level, enhancing their academic and personal path:

  • Department of International Relations: Student support for international collaborations and programs, such as Erasmus.

  • Student Advocate: Provides support and mediation in matters concerning compliance with the law and the operation of the Foundation.

  • Ethics Committee: Ensures compliance with and implementation of the rules of ethics by all members of the Foundation and identifies violations of the rules of ethics.
  • Research Ethics Committee: Audits in relation to the ethical and moral approach of research projects.
  • Gender Equality Committee: Advisory body for the promotion of gender equality and the fight against discrimination.
  • Personal Data Protection: Support on personal data protection issues.

  • Psychosocial Support Center: The Center is addressed to all members of the HMU Academic community (students, faculty members, administrative staff) and has a support group on mental health issues, covering the entire spectrum of mental disorders.
