1. Scientific Works:
- It includes individual or group work within the context of courses, as well as the diploma thesis.
- The procedures and specifications are determined by the approved internal regulations of the Program (Government Gazette B’ 3978/01-11-2019), which is available and listed in Annex A12 of the academic certification proposal submission file.
- The work is governed by the Research Ethics Regulation, which includes:
- Rules of Ethics to avoid plagiarism.
- Ethics Policies, which are listed in Appendix A13.
2. General Framework of Scientific Works:
- Course assignments include bibliographic, experimental, research work, interviews, case studies, etc.
- Teachers’ obligations:
- They inform students about assignments through the electronic platform and verbally.
- They provide instructions on the content, structure and submission of the paper.
- They determine the weight of the work in the final grade and the dates.
- Student obligations:
- They state the topic and the working group (if the work is a group project).
- They write and submit the assignment based on the instructions.
- They present the work within the context of the course (if required).
3. General Framework of Thesis:
- A postgraduate thesis must demonstrate the student’s ability to work in a scientific manner and be familiar with the main works on the subject.
- The thesis can be research or technical and must have sufficient originality or demonstrate good knowledge of the subject.
- Full-time (3rd semester) and part-time (5th semester) students undertake to prepare a thesis in collaboration with a postgraduate professor.
- The thesis proposal includes the “Thesis Proposal Form”, the “Notice of Intent to Submit a Thesis” and the Thesis Template.
4. Subject Selection & Student Responsibilities:
- Students must choose the topic of their thesis as soon as possible and write it in collaboration with the supervising professor.
- Ethics approvals are being considered (if required).
- Create a work plan with goals and a timeline.
5. Examiners & Submission of Forms:
- Examiners are appointed in collaboration with the supervising professor.
- Students must submit the “Thesis Proposal Form” for initial review and evaluation.
- The final proposals are approved by the MSc Coordinating Committee.
6. Thesis Preparation:
- Collaboration with the supervisor to determine the approach to the topic and method is essential.
- Writing a thesis progress report and submitting it to the supervisor for comments is good practice.
- The work must follow the template provided by the Master’s Degree Program.
7. Submission and Approval:
- The title of the thesis is determined at least one month before the end of the semester.
- The paper is submitted to the three-member examination committee and, if corrections are needed, the student must make them and resubmit it.
8. Thesis Presentation:
- The presentation date is determined in collaboration with the supervisor.
- The student prepares the oral presentation (30-40 minutes) and is ready to answer questions.
- The minimum score for a successful presentation is 7.
