Specialisations and Courses (ECTS)
The Postgraduate Programme of Studies (MSc) “Computer Engineering” offers three (3) specialisation tracks, which allow students to obtain a specialised Diploma of Postgraduate Studies (M.Sc.) in the fields of Computer Science and Technology. The orientations include:
1st Direction: Network Engineering and Multimedia
2nd Direction: Software Technology and Applications
3rd Direction: Intelligent Systems and Computer Architecture
Requirements for the award of a Title of Direction
For the award of the title of the chosen course, the following is required:
a) The successful completion of at least four (4) courses in the relevant direction (i.e. at least 4 of the 6 elective courses must belong to the direction), and
b) The Master’s thesis must be relevant to this direction.
The program requires the acquisition of a total of ninety (90) ECTS credits. The procedure for obtaining the credits includes:
- Eight (8) courses: Of which two (2) are compulsory and six (6) are selective. Each course of the MSc corresponds to 7,5 ECTS.
- Master’s Thesis: Related to the direction chosen by the student. Corresponds to 30 ECTS.
The completion of the Master’s Thesis contributes significantly to the success of the student’s educational career and requires additional time and effort for its completion.
Specialties and Diploma of Postgraduate Studies
The direction chosen by the student is not mentioned in the Diploma of Postgraduate Studies (MSc), but is indicated in the Diploma Supplement that accompanies it. The degree awarded is common to all students and is the Diploma of Postgraduate Studies “Computer Engineering”.
In addition, students of the MSc have the opportunity to take courses from other departments, subject to the approval of the Coordinating Committee (CC). Modifications may be made to the course programme or their reallocation between semesters, subject to the approval of the CC and the Senate of ELMEPA. The aggregated list of courses, their content, and the curriculum rules are available on the MSc website to facilitate the study process for students.
