Structure of the Program
The structure of the program covers a number of compulsory and elective courses, as well as the preparation of the postgraduate thesis. In detail:
Duration of Studies
The duration of study for the award of the Diploma of Postgraduate Studies is:
- For full-time students: Three (3) academic semesters, with the possibility of extension up to two (2) additional semesters. The required courses are completed within the first two semesters, while the third semester is devoted to the writing of the Master’s Thesis.
- For part-time students: Six (6) academic semesters. Part-time students take two (2) courses per semester for the first four (4) semesters, while the fifth and sixth semesters are devoted to writing the Master’s Thesis.
Extension of Attendance and Special Arrangements
- Extension for the completion of the Master’s Thesis: In the event that additional time is required for the completion of the Master’s Thesis, following a justified recommendation of the supervising teacher, the Coordinating Committee (CC) may approve an extension of the study period beyond five (5) semesters.
- Suspension of Studies: In extremely justified cases, the AC may approve the suspension of studies for a reasonable period of time, which in no case may exceed twelve (12) months.
- Conversion of Attendance Status: In exceptional cases, the AC may approve the change of study status from full-time to part-time or vice versa, following a justified request by the student.
- Student Deletion: A student who does not complete his/her obligations within the prescribed time limits is automatically withdrawn from the Postgraduate Studies Programme (MSc), by decision of the Department Assembly, following the recommendation of the AC. In this case, a certificate shall be issued for the courses successfully completed during his/her studies.
Settlement of Pending Study Issues
The AC is responsible for resolving any issue concerning studies that is not explicitly mentioned in the above provisions.
