Nikos Papadakis has studied Computer Science at the University of Cyprus (1997), Master in Computer Science at University of Crete, (1999) and a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Crete (2004).
N.Papadakis is Associate Professor at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the Hellenic Mediterranean University (HMU), vice president at the Department of Social Work of the Hellenic Mediterranean University (HMU), head at the team Telecommunication and Informatic Technology, Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the Hellenic Mediterranean. Initially he worked as visiting Professor at the Department of Computer Science of University of Crete, as visiting Professor at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the Technical University of Crete, as visiting Professor at the Department of Sciences of the Technological Education Institute of Crete. Also he worked at the Institute of Computer Science of the Foundation for Research and Technology (FORTH) – Hellas in European research programs from September 1997 up to January 2006. From June 2009 up to April 2019, he worked as academic staff at the Technological Educational Institute of Crete, up to April 2019 and from May 2019 until today he works as Associate Professor at the Hellenic Mediterranean University.
His main research interests are in
Databases, Artificial Intelligence and Software Engineering: Rules integrity, temporal databases, knowledge representation, Database management systems and knowledge, reasoning systems and software development
Semantic Web: Query Languages, logic programming languages.
Additional interests: Distributed Algorithms: Communication Protocols, Fault Tolerance, multimedia databases
Software Engineering: methods of automatic optimization of software, interactive verifier
