ELMEPA at the European University ATHENA

The Hellenic Mediterranean University (HMU) participates in the new European University partnership “ATHENA” (Advanced Technology Higher Education Network Alliance), which includes seven universities from European countries and is funded through the Erasmus+ and Horizon 2020 programmes.Its aim is to provide inclusive, innovative and high quality international education, permanently aligned with the needs of the global market.

Teaching within ATHENA European University combines innovative methods, both face-to-face and distance learning. As a member of this partnership, HMU offers its students the opportunity to either move to the partner universities’ headquarters for an internship or to prepare their thesis, or to attend online courses designed for virtual mobility.

In terms of research, joint research teams will be set up on priority topics and doctoral students will choose their thesis supervisor from among the faculty of all the universities in the partnership. In addition, the research laboratory facilities of the universities participating in ATHENA will be available for use by any member of the joint research teams that will be set up.

The MSc encourages students to attend some courses or seminars during their mobility, in addition to those provided in the double degrees, because they are recorded in the diploma supplement that accompanies their degree, thus enriching their CV.
